報告簡介:
Linear e+ e- colliders (LC) on the energy 200-3000 GeV have been considered and developed for more than 40 years (30 actively) by the leading HEP centers. In this energy region, a linear collider would be the best tool for studying particle physics with high accuracy. A rich new physics was expected at these energies and physicists from around the world worked very enthusiastically in close cooperation promoting several projects (VLEPP, NLC, TESLA, SBLC, JLC (c), JLC (x) -GLC, CLIC). In beginning of 2000th, superconducting (TESLA) and warm (NLC-JLC) colliders were almost ready for implementation, but did not receive support, in part because of the LHC under construction. In the following years, work continued on two projects: the International Linear Collider (ILC) and CLIC.
The lecture tells the story of developments on linear colliders from their origin to the present days, its physics motivation, ways to optimal linear collider designs, key phenomena that determine LC parameters, the possibility of creating gamma-gamma colliders based on LC’s e-e- beams, work on physics and detectors, about very friendly work of physicists from around the world, joyful and dramatic moments. The LC technologies were used already for XFELs and in coming months a decision is expected on construction of the ILC (250) for the Higgs boson study in Japan.

2018年底日本政府將決定是否有意承建ILC。本次報告邀請了俄羅斯BINP的Prof.V.Telnov教授對直線對撞機的歷史進行一次全面的回顧,從60年代到2018年。Prof.V.Telnov對環(huán)形正負電子對撞機的設計(例如CEPC FCCee Higgs Factories)做出重要貢獻,他對Beam lifetime due to beamstrahlung:
