Title: Development of Diamond Sensors for Beam Halo and Compton Spectrum Diagnostics after the Interaction Point of ATF2
Abstract:
The investigation of beam halo transverse distributions is an important issue for beam losses and background control in Future Linear Colliders (FLC). A novel in vacuum diamond sensor (DSv) scanner with four strips has been designed and developed for the investigation of beam halo transverse distributions and also for the diagnostics of Compton recoil electrons after the interaction point (IP) of ATF2, a low energy (1.3 GeV) prototype of the final focus system for ILC and CLIC linear collider projects. Using the DSv, a dynamic range of (~106 ) has been successfully demonstrated and confirmed for the first time by a simultaneous beam core (~109 electrons) and beam halo (~103 electrons) measurement at ATF2.
This report will present the characterization, performance studies and tests of the diamond sensors using the radioactive sources as well as using the electron beams both at PHIL, a low energy (< 10 MeV) photo-injector at LAL, and at ATF2. First beam halo measurement results using DSv and wire scanners at ATF2will also be presented. Such measurements will not only allow us to distinguish different sources of beam halo generation but also help us to define the requirements for the collimator design.

束暈橫向分布的研究對于未來直線對撞機(FLC)的束流損失和本底的控制起著關鍵性的作用。ATF2是ILC和CLIC的最終聚焦系統(tǒng)(Final focus)的低能量(1.3 GeV)的原型,為了探索ATF2的“對撞點”(IP)后的束暈及康普頓散射電子的橫向分布,我們設計并研發(fā)了一個含4個微條(strips)的新型真空鉆石探測器(DSv)。運用DSv,我們首次同步測量了ATF2束流線上的束流中心(~109 個電子) 和束暈(~103 個電子) ,測量的量級達到了106。
本次報告將介紹利用放射性元素和LAL實驗室的PHIL束流(10 MeV) 以及ATF2的束流對鉆石探測器進行的測試與標定, 另外還將展示利用DSv及絲靶探測器 (wire scanner) 測量束暈的初步結果。這些測量結果不僅可以幫助我們區(qū)分ATF束流線上不同的束暈源,同時還將為準直器(collimator)的設計提供重要參考信息。
個人簡歷: 劉珊,法國巴黎南大學(巴黎第十一大學 Université Paris-Sud)加速器物理專業(yè)博士。2005年加入吉林大學與俄羅斯托木斯克理工大學本科“2+2”聯(lián)合培養(yǎng)項目,2009年獲得吉林大學與俄羅斯托木斯克理工大學物理學雙學位,并獲得俄羅斯紅皮畢業(yè)證書(優(yōu)秀畢業(yè)生)保送至吉林大學攻讀碩士學位。2010年獲得日本JASSO獎學金赴日本東北大學CYRIC實驗室交換留學一年。2012年獲得吉林大學粒子物理與原子核物理專業(yè)碩士學位,隨后獲得國家基金委公派留學獎學金赴法國巴黎南大LAL實驗室攻讀博士學位。2015年獲得法國巴黎南大博士學位。
