題目:Novel HOM damper design for high current SRF cavities

摘要:
ERL-Ring eRHIC aims to build a new high current (50 mA), multi-pass (6 passes) ERL to provide 5-18 GeV electron beams to collide with proton beams from existing RHIC. One critical challenge for eRHIC is to damp HOMs. The average HOM power is up to 8 kW per cavity, and it will get worse when the electron beam spectrum overlaps with cavity HOM spectrum. A novel HOM damping scheme by employing ridge waveguides has been worked out at BNL, which is able to well damp both longitudinal and transversal modes. This presentation will describe the design of the HOM damping scheme for high current SRF cavities for eRHIC.

徐文燦 于2009年取得北京大學(xué)博士學(xué)位,之后到Brookhaven National lab工作直到現(xiàn)在。 其中,
2009-2014,主要負(fù)責(zé)的ERL超導(dǎo)加速腔的設(shè)計,垂直測試和水平的運行,光陰極電子腔的建造和運行。
2014 至今, 除了參加日常的CEC(Coherent electron cooling)和LEREC (Low energy RHIC electron cooling)的超導(dǎo)加速器運行之外,主要負(fù)責(zé)eRHIC SRF linac 的設(shè)計,包括超導(dǎo)加速腔的設(shè)計,高階模耦合器和高功率耦合器, 以及恒溫器系統(tǒng)的設(shè)計和實驗。
