報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:
Dr. Ma is currently an associate professor of department of chemistry. His research field mainly focus on (i) organometallic complex synthesis, (ii) PPI modulator discovery, and (iii) computer-aided structural design and screening. He is one of the few experienced Principal Investigators in Hong Kong that possesses the unique combination of the above fields. And since as an independent principal investigator in 2010, Dr. Ma has published over 290 articles in his research field, such as J. Am. Soc. Chem., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Sci. J. Med. Chem. 摘要:
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) are of pivotal importance in the regulation of biological systems and are consequently implicated in the development of disease states. Recent work has begun to show that, with the right tools, certain classes of PPI can yield to the efforts of medicinal chemists to develop inhibitors, and the first PPI inhibitors have reached clinical development. As an emerging solution to prevent the diseases caused by PPIs, small molecules functioning as inhibitors to disrupt the original interactions between protein and protein by binding into pockets on the surface of the globular protein. Thus, it would be promising candidates to treart various cancers. In addition, in silico techniques have been utilized to discover natural products that directly target the PPIs, which tremendously reduces the unnecessary tasks and improves the accuracy of specific targeting.
